The Mongolia Australia Society (Mozzies Association) has received funding from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), through Australia Awards Mongolia to implement the Mozzies Alumni Program (MAP) in 2025-2026. Part of this fund is allocated to supporting individuals or groups of Australia Awards Scholarship (AAS) Graduates and other Mozzies members who wish to partake in professional development opportunities. 

Professional development opportunities may include participating in an international conference or seminar and/or training related to their fields of study or current work. Awarded funds can be used to contribute towards either travel, accommodation, registration  or other related costs. Funds are awarded on a cost-sharing basis only. 

The international conference, seminar and/or training must take place from October 2025 until June 2026. 

Selection criteria:

• The applicant must be a Mozzies member and have paid their membership fee

• The topic of international conference/seminar/training must be related to the applicant’s areas of study or current work

• The international conference/seminar/training must be related to the professional development of the applicant

• The applicant must develop and submit a short proposal on how this funding will support their professional development and how they will benefit from this activity

• The applicant must have already returned from their overseas studies, and currently be living and working in Mongolia

• The applicant must demonstrate his/her willingness to share the knowledge and skills gained from the training/conference/seminar with other Mozzies upon return

• The applicant must show evidence and verify the co-funding source/s

• Preference will be given to active Mozzies members

Expected code of conduct:

• To arrange and secure a travel visa in good time

• To not renege on a successful application or to inform well in advance if it is unavoidable  

• To submit a report to the Mozzies Executive Director on the activity completed within 4 weeks

• Be available to participate in a knowledge sharing activity among Mozzies members upon return from the conference/training/seminar as requested by the Mozzies Executive Director

Funding available:
In total, AUD$2,000 is available for this activity and it will be shared among the applicants. 

Important Dates:

September 15, 2025 – Release of Call for Proposals

October 5, 2025 – Deadline to submit applications

October 12, 2025 – Decision on selection of members to benefit from this program

October 13, 2025 - June 1, 2026 – Awarding of funds
